ANDREA KOEPPEL
Andrea Koeppel’s gilt ceramic work is made in the hand-coiled tradition. Her lamps and furniture appear spare but not austere, and luxurious without being posh, and that takes a certain amount of control. They relate to the history of design while remaining beautiful objects made in a new way. She is influenced by the French modernist Jean-Michel Frank.
For her lighting, furniture and objects, Andrea combines her ceramics with wood, vellum and glass. The custom shades and electrical fixtures are also carefully considered design elements.
Andrea received a BFA from Pratt Institute, and studied at FIT and Greenwich House Pottery. As a clothing designer, her clients have included Takishimaya and Barney’s New York.
Andrea’s ceramic work is available exclusively through Gerald Bland. Please contact us for custom quotes or commissions.
